SKETCH AND THE CITY

His illustrations range from the pornographic to the sinfully sexy, drawing a wide range of sexual fantasies he creates his unique brand of artistic porn which has already captured the attention of Art Editors and hundreds of followers.

His Name is  ZVONIMIR NOVAK  a Croatian artist who somewhere along the lines tripped onto my site which led him to drop me a note asking for permission to draw one of my pictures- TEETH. Completely flattered, I said Yes! However I wanted more info on the man who makes drawings so fucking sexy.

I recently caught up with Mr. Novak for a quick Q&A. Below is a quick insight to one of my favorite tumblrs around.

LBF: Where are you from?

A medium sized coastal city in Croatia.

LBF: what is the gay scene like there?

Actually there is no gay scene there, most of the guys are closeted so they don’t want to be seen socializing with other fags, but as long as i have my other drinking buddies, and there are few cheap dumps where u can get wasted, my social life is fulfilled!

LBF: What is the hottest thing about guys in your city or town?

There are not many hipsters here!

LBF: When Did You Start Drawing Erotic Men?

A bit longer than one year ago, wanted to improve my drawing skills + replace my porn addiction with something more productive.

Why did you pick this picture to draw?

Damn this is a long story. In school we used rather old art history books that were written in socialist yugoslavia, in pre-post modern times. They installed in me a fear of figurative art necessarily being petit bourgeois and kitsch. To avoid my drawings falling into kitsch I chose more expressive motifs. Want them to appear more brutal, no sleepy melancholic face expressions and tender beauty. That photo you made, really catches what I seek to accomplish with my drawings.

LBF: Who is your favorite LeBeau Model?

The boxer definitely! (This Guy )

LBF:How many followers do you have?

Any strange tumblr stalkers?

Not really. I guess people on tumblr don’t focus so much on a person behind the material that is posted. I see it more as a place where people exchange or show their collections and not a real social site, and my blog is anyway about my drawings and not much about me. And in the end I am not even a good stalking material (laughs).
